More than half a million people with diabetes in England are at increased risk of blindness because they have not received retinal screening, an essential annual check which tests for eye disease (diabetic retinopathy).

The Mayor, Boris Johnson opened EcoVelocity, the largest European low carbon motor festival - in support of his vision to make London the electric vehicle leader of Europe. The Mayor officially launched the show by leading a cavalcade of vehicles around the innovative EcoVelocity test track.
