From the 20th to the 26th June 2011 recycle week will be trying to encourage all of us to do a little bit more with the rubbish we throw away. This years theme is 'Recycling - Home and Away'.

The Edinburgh International Book Festival has launched its programme for 2011 with a diverse collection of events around the theme of Revolution in the 21st Century which promises 17 days of lively debate. The Edinburgh International Book Festival runs from Saturday 13 August to Monday 29 August in Charlotte Square Gardens in the heart of Edinburgh.

Set in the shadows of one of Europe's largest Castles the town of Caerphilly comes to life as people of all ages come to The Big Cheese®, an extravaganza of street entertainers, living history encampments, music, dance, traditional funfair, folk dancing, falconry, fire eating, minstrels, troubadours and much more.

Taking place from July 16 to 17 at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire, more than 155,000 visitors are expected to view around 250 aircraft from across the world.

Cherries, the quintessentially English fruit, are to be celebrated at the peak of their season during a two-day festival at Brogdale, home of the National Fruit Collections. Taking place on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 July, the cherry festival honours this sweet and juicy fruit - with tasting sessions, cookery demonstrations and specialist gardening and horticulture talks.
