Best of British for National Baking Week 2012

In a year when we know what it is to be 'truly British', National Baking Week 2012 is taking over from the 15th - 21st October with a celebration of what makes our nation great. To mark the event, a map of the UK made entirely of cake will be created and housed at prestigious shopping and leisure destination Westfield Stratford City.

15th National Curry Week Celebrates the 'Currification of the World'

The 15th National Curry Week 8th - 14th October 2012 will not only celebrate the fantastic curry houses all over Britain but also acknowledge the influence curry has had on other ethnic cuisines such as Thai, Chinese, Caribbean, Japanese, South African and more. A recent survey suggested that a massive 87% of Brits enjoy curry at home or in a restaurant each year and 40% go for their 'hit' at least once a week.

Show Your Support and Donate on Jeans for Genes Day 2012

This year Jeans for Genes takes place on Friday 5th October 2012. A beautifully simple idea, the Day invites people to leave their suits and uniforms at home and wear their jeans to work or school in return for a donation. Jeans for Genes Day provides vital care and support for children with genetic disorders. This year 23 charities will benefit from funds raised on Jeans for Genes Day.

Get Ready for Chocolate Week 2012

Chocolate Week, the nation's favourite themed week, returns for an eighth consecutive year in 2012, celebrating the world of fine chocolate from 8th -14th October 2012. Highlights of this year's week include an experiential chocolate cocktail event, the UK première of documentary film Nothing Like Chocolate and Chocolate Unwrapped, a deliciously indulgent consumer exhibition taking place in Covent Garden, October 13th -14th.

The Baskerville Murder at Brixham's Weary Ploughman Celebrating the 8th Agatha Christie Festival

The Weary Ploughman at Churston, Brixham is celebrating Agatha Christie Week with an exciting Murder Mystery evening entitled The Baskerville Murder. The Weary Ploughman is located in Brixham next to the Churston Steam Railway Station featured in Agatha Christie's ABC Murders and is only 2 miles from Agatha Christie's famous riverside residence at Greenway (now National Trust) on the beautiful River Dart.
