Theatre Paradok presents The Jumblies

This summer from the 7th -11th August 2012 the Edinburgh-based Theatre Paradok are taking children's show "The Jumblies", inspired by the verse of Edward Lear, to the Edinburgh Fringe "The Jumblies" - a play inspired by the verse of Edward Lear... 'Far and few, far and few, are the lands where the Jumblies live. Their heads are green and their hands are blue and they went to sea in a sieve.'

Duck 'Sandwich' with Cumbrian Ewe's Milk Cheese

On 29th and 30th September 2012, the Taste Cumbria Food Festival will see Cockermouth's shops, restaurants, hotels and pubs join forces in the weekend-long Cumbrian culinary celebrations. The festival will showcase produce from over 100 regional producers, improving visitors' access to and awareness of Cumbrian food heroes and food culture.

Win for Paul Crago in Hickstead's International Arena

Showjumper Paul Crago won the final class of the day on the Wednesday of the Longines Royal International Horse Show. The Berkshire-based rider won the Outside Events Catering Winter Grades B&C Championship on Dawn Cooley’s Valentino IX, heading a hugely competitive jump-off field. A total of 11 riders made it through to the jump-off, with Geoff Luckett coming closest to Paul's time - he finished on 36.80 with Final Strike while Paul crossed the finish line in 36.09.
