The Freedom of the Forest with Forest Holidays

Forest Holidays are for everyone. From the very young to the very old; from families to couples to groups of friends; perfect for dogs (and their owners), and as suited to relaxing as they are to letting off steam. With Forest Holidays, whatever you do, your woodland surroundings will work their quiet magic on you, making this the most memorable of holidays. Because a Forest Holiday is whatever you want it to be.

Escape to one of eight idyllic locations, each set in exclusive Forestry Commission owned woodland, and make your holiday your own. Allow yourself the space and time to recharge your batteries, stay in a luxurious woodland cabin and reconnect: with yourself, with those you love, and with the natural world.Forest Holidays A Forest Holidays are part owned by the Forestry Commission and share with them a responsibility for sustaining and conserving our forests for the enjoyment of everyone, now and into the future.

Cabins are designed by award winning architects Holder Matthias to BREEAM specifications. This means that the cabins benefit from the latest eco-sensitive thinking and boast features like foundations and roofing that allow rainwater to flow straight back into the forest floor and insulation of the highest specification. With recycling schemes available at all sites, efficient and eco-friendly heating to keep your luxury cabin cosy and, at the Forest Retreat shop, bio detergents for your washing and dishwashers, Forest Holidays are environmentally aware in the way they manage their sites on a day-to-day basis.

Forest Holidays are members of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, the certification scheme for sustainable tourism in the UK. They also stock plenty of local fresh produce - which not only supports local businesses but also reduces their carbon footprint.

Forest Holidays is committed to preserving the forest for future generations and with your help they can, so when you book a Forest Holiday you will be asked to donate an optional £2.50 to their charity, the Forest Holidays Trust, for a tree to be planted.Forest Holidays Logo The trees are planted by the Woodland Trust, who own and manage over 1,200 woods, all with free public access. The admirable objective of the Woodland Trust is to double woodland cover in the UK by 2050.
