In August 2011, Alison Coombs saw an advert in a weight watchers magazine for Women V Cancer Cycle Challenges - India . Having just lost 5 stone herself and with cancer having touched her family, Alison signed up. An incredibly emotional journey, lots of tears, lots of laughs and very sore bottoms ensued, as 88 women cycled through India - camping and pulling together to raise money to help other women.

Broadstairs Food Festival adds Easter Fayre to Events Calendar

Buoyed by the continuing success of the Broadstairs Food Festival that traditionally comes to the Kent town for first weekend in October, the historic seaside resort is to host a Spring Festival this Easter from Saturday 30th March to Monday 1st April 2013. In its fifth year and now firmly established as of one the leading epicurean events in the Kent calendar, with free entry, the Festival attracts between 40,000 and 50,000 plus visitors. The new Spring Food Fayre will feature over 50 stalls showcasing the finest food and drink produce from the 'Garden of England'.
