Benedict Blythe Foundation Honoured With Free From Hero Award

Benedict Blythe Foundation Honoured With Free From Hero Award

On Thursday, 11th June, The Benedict Blythe Foundation was presented with the Free From Hero Award 2026, for the implementation of Benedict's Law: a set of national protections (coming into force September 2026) designed to improve allergy safety for children in schools, and ensure staff have the knowledge and tools to respond fast when emergencies occur.

Benedict's Law will be a step change for the allergic community in the way that Natasha's Law was and continues to be. The incredible standard of tonight’s winners demonstrates just how vital a benchmark these awards remain. For 19 years, we have guided and celebrated this sector, and as we gear up for our momentous 20th anniversary next year, the energy, inclusivity, and brilliant innovation we’ve seen tonight prove that the free-from industry is stronger, safer, and more delicious than ever.

The Free From Food Awards, the UK's only industry awards for free-from food and drink, were launched in 2008 to encourage innovation and celebrate excellence in the free-from food and drink industry. The Free From Awards are the UK's only awards body dedicated to food and drink that is free from one or more of the top 14 major allergens. In addition to the All Year Round Awards for Food, Drinks and International products, they run seasonal Awards covering Easter, Hallowe'en and Christmas.

First launched in 2008, the awards celebrate the very best in free-from food & drink. They are recognised for supporting, promoting and actively encouraging both existing and new product development. The Awards Ceremony is one of the most highly anticipated events in the free-from calendar. Free-from products have been blind tasted by a specialist judging panel, featuring chefs, developers, manufacturers, nutritionists, allergy reactors, and well-known figures in the food and allergy worlds. The awards are entirely independent, supported by sponsorship and entry fees only.
