Cumbria's most adventurous food producers will set sail to Marvejols in France on Thursday 31st January to represent Cumbria in the week long Taste Cumbria Producer Exchange Programme. Nineteen Cumbrian food traders & industry representatives from Solway, Border and Eden have been selected by Taste Cumbria to visit Marvejols to meet their French food counterparts and establish new networks, trade their produce abroad and view some of France's most established food tourism models.

As part of a six-week celebration of food and wine the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has partnered with four of London's finest Chinese restaurants to offer foodies the chance to sample sumptuous Chinese cuisine and cookery school 'School of Wok' for a lesson in creating your own special dishes.

The Big Dig Day will be taking place on Saturday 16th March 2013 and will involve approximately 200 community food-growing gardens across 22 cities/towns in the UK. This is a great opportunity for people to get down to their local garden and get their hands dirty, learn something new and hopefully decide to continue to help throughout the growing season.

Cafe Weymouth is a small, family-run cafe on the edge of Weymouth town centre, within a minutes walk from the seafront. Serving beautiful handmade coffees, mochas, hot chocolates and Clipper teas, they also use a large proportion of locally sourced food for their breakfasts and lunch.

Fairtrade Fortnight, which this year runs from 25th February to the 10th March 2013, will call on the British public to "Go Further for Fairtrade in 2013" - to look after the food we love and the people who grow it. Without our support now, farmers in developing countries face a difficult and uncertain future, the Fairtrade Foundation will warn.

That's the call from organisers of the prestigious preserves contest, held at Dalemain in Cumbria, which attracts thousands of entries from all over the world. The World's Original Marmalade Awards and Festival on the 2nd and 3rd March kicks off National Marmalade Week 2nd - 9th March 2013.
